Is a driving license enough for being aloud to drive a company car in Sweden?
No, it is not enough according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority. The swedish Work Environment Act states that every employee must have the necessary training for the task he or she is to perform. If you drive a car while working, a driving license will not be sufficent according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
Safe@Work offers one of the most comprehensive training program in road safety to help you out. All the courses meet the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s guidelines.
Did you get an answer to your question? Yes No -
What responsibility does the employer have for the work environment that consists of road traffic?
The employer has a far-reaching responsibility for minimizing risks for all employees, especially when working in high-risk environments such as road traffic.
Since the employees who spend working-time driving a car on Swedish or foreign roads are extra exposed too risks, the responsibility is extra high on the employer.
Did you get an answer to your question? Yes No -
We have several craftsmen and service technicians who only use the car to transport themselves between jobs, do they need any training in addition to their driver's license training?
Yes. Just as the risk of accidents when working high up of the ground must be minimized with fall prevention training, the risk of road accidents must be minimized with a road safety training.
Even though the main task of the workers is not the driving itself, it is still a part of the craftsman’s working environment. Often, it is also the most risk exposed part of their work environment.

We have a high staff turnover; do you have an efficient solution for us?

Did you get an answer to your question? Yes No -
Do you have a simple and efficient solution for individual training, for example when hiring new drivers?
The quickest and most resource efficient solution is our e-learning in road safety. It both ensures that the new employee has read the company’s road safety policy and that he or she receives a proper driver training.
Did you get an answer to your question? Yes No -
Does all companies have to have a road safety policy?
A work environment policy must always be present at a Swedish company, if more than 10 employees the policy must also be documented.
A Road safety policy must be included as part of the company’s work environment policy if someone at the company drives a vehicle when at work.

Safe@Works exercises are well balanced with an insight into the risks involved in handling vehicles as an emergency driver. The theory blocks are well focused on the professional driver and their special needs for a safe work environment. The theory also encompasses insight-enhancing thoughts about the difficulties and dangers of road traffic, but also how the individual driver can utilize the knowledge and prevent risks.
